in town from san francisco, and hooking up with some friends who just moved to nyc.  looking to take them out to a good restaurant with a good social scene, new york style.

Casual but nice: Grace Bar and Grill -- terrific cocktails, delicious food
Amazing food: Landmarc (if you love steak, this is the place to go!)
Buster's Bar and Grill: Good sports bar, cheap beers
Bubby's: Fantastic brunch place and wonderful desserts

For amazing food - Chanterelle on Hudson St, but the atmosphere may be a little stuffy...

Also good - Montrachet on West Broadway or Franklin Station on West Broadway

Funky and casual - Yaffa's on Greenwich Street
